Rec Center Open Gym Hours

The Carmel Valley Recreation Center is committed to providing a positive and welcoming environment for individuals of all ages to reach their wellness goals. Our campus communities are designed to foster leadership, fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork through various physical experiences. The recreation center offers free open play during designated hours, allowing members to engage in activities such as Open Volleyball, Adult Pick Up Basketball, and Open Pickleball.

Operating Hours

The rec center is open on Saturdays from 8am-10pm, with special hours for Bennies Only in the CSB Fitness Center. On weekdays, the center is open from 4-7pm, except during academic breaks such as Long Weekend, Spring Break, Summer Break, and Winter Break.

Dates and Times of Unavailability

Please note that the Field House may be closed or unavailable due to previously scheduled events on specific dates. These events include Senior Weekend Events on March 13th and 14th, which will affect the operating hours of the Fitness Center.

Open Swim Hours

Starting January 15th, the rec center will begin offering Open Swim Hours during the Spring 2024 semester.

Academic Hours of Operation

The Fitness Center/Field House operates according to the academic calendar. For Fall and Spring semesters, please check our website for specific hours. During classes, the center is open from 8am-10pm, Monday-Friday. Please bring your own water bottle and wipe down machines/equipment before and after each use.

Getting There

The Carmel Valley Recreation Center is accessible by bus via SDMTS Route 89 (weekdays only). For those driving, take Interstate 5 north or south to exit onto El Camino Real. Follow the signs to Townsgate Drive, where you'll find the center on your right.

Facilities and Amenities

The Lower gym features two full-size courts with six basketball hoops, as well as Open Volleyball, Adult Pick Up Basketball, and Open Pickleball hosted in the lower gym. Hydration stations are available for filling water bottles.
